Web Design and Development
Shepherd Creative
Shepherd Creative's sleek new look. The site uses the Dot Net Nuke Content Management System, a powerful CMS that allows users to easily update information by themselves.
Sharpenz
Alice Kemper and Nancy Bleeke came to me looking for a clean, impactful site to showcase their 30-minute sales booster packages. I could not be happier as to how it turned out.
Shepherd Creative
The old site I designed for Shepherd Creative. A new site I developed just launched (see above). This minimlist design has a unique image portraying difference on each page, a theme that is consistent throughout the site.
My Saggy Butt
The home to creative writer and blogger, Kathryn Shanley. This site caters to women above 40 that still like to feel young.
Carson Shold Design
After all the hard work I spent on this, I couldn't just throw it away.
Logo Design
A logo that was initially done for fun, but ended up being the face of a small group of designers and developers.
Notice how the mark can be seen as a penguin with its head down, or part of a man's white shirt in a tuxedo.
Sharpenz is a consulting firm that offers a 30-minute sales meeting to enhance the productivity of sales teams. Their logo needed to represent the action of sharpening sales skills while maintaining a brandable image.
This logo needed to be a strong, yet feminine mark that could be used on a blog, business card, and letterhead.
Redwood Strategic is positioned as companies’ connection to campuses. Through targeted strategies, Redwood Strategic leverages its national network of student leaders, campus connections, and student groups to provide unparalleled marketing and campus recruitment expertise.
This logo was created for a student entrepreneur starting a private swimming lesson company.
Impact Momentum provides an ongoing resource and awareness to young and aspiring entrepreneurs; bridging the gap between ideas and action. The Impact Momentum campaign needed a logo that is easily recognizable while promoting young men and women to strive for the top.
A logo concept for Pod fm that I entered into a contest, yet to hear back from them. This experience leaft me with some harsh realizations about spec work and design contests.
Print Design
Beyond Us Both Album Art
One of my favorite albums, bias aside, is Beyond Us Both's debut album, The Lighter Shades of Shadows. Stu Mitchell and Alex Pass combine their brilliant vocal harmonies with the acoustic guitar, keyboard, and even a splash of violin to create a wonderful collection of songs. The artwork was inspired by the 2007 movie, Sunshine.
Stugonemo Album Art
Following a successful album with long-time friend, Alex Pass, Stu Mitchell is about to start recording a solo project. His love for the animated movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas made the inspiration come easy. Listen to one of his first songs, here.
Redwood Strategic Stationery
With a new logo design, Redwood Strategic asked me to follow up with a simple, yet creative business card and letterhead design.
CSD Business Card
The best way to make a good impression with a business card is to offer something unique. My personal business card is printed on some of the heaviest paper stock available with rounded corners to make sure no one forgets me after I hand them a card.
Jason Mercer Poster
Jason was introduced to me through a few friends in the London, Ontario music industry and was looking for some posters he could print off for his various shows. Instead of making a new poster for every show, I left a white space at the bottom where he could use a sharpie to fill in the information. Keeping it in grayscale keeps costs down when photocopying, something all of us students like.
Big Brothers Concert Poster
This poster was used to promote a live music night in Hamilton, Ontario to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hamilton. The show was a huge success. I used the same concept as the Beyond Us Both album art which can be seen above.
Swiss Diamond Poster
This nationwide poster promotes the Try Me event after successful target marketing by Domestic Canada.
Personal Projects
Tattoo Superimposition
No, it's not real, but I have fooled a few people. I designed this tattoo in Adobe Illustrator, based on the epic scene in 300. I then imported the tattoo into Photoshop and transformed, warped, masked and colour corrected it to make it seem as realistic as possible. What a great way to freak out your parents.
Gradient Mesh Portrait
One of the tools with the hardest learning curve I have ever encountered is the gradient mesh tool in Adobe Illustrator, but once I got the hang of it I couldn't stop. The actual picture is on the left, the finished product in the middle, and the ‘behind-the-scenes’ shot on the right.
Skate Deck Designs
Completed for a school project, I created a 6-deck series of boards in the style of the brand Zoo York. Instead of focusing on New York City as is the norm for Zoo York, I referenced the Toronto skyling. This series is called kaenede, the phonetic spelling and pronunciation of Canada.
